It is rather unfortunate that Manila decided to yield to terrorist demands. It is a disgrace to all Filipinos everywhere. It is a disgrace to all the things, freedom loving people cherish.
Manila's mistake would cost them dearly in the future. Terrorists are aptly named because they want to instill in us fear. Would you think this would be the end of that? The world is such a small place that when word gets out.. And it has... Then Filipinos everywhere are targets because these people will come to know that Manila can easily be threatened and will give way to that threat.
It is a mistake to give in to demands of terrorists. Give in once, and you'd be giving in forever.
The reasons for the Iraqi invasion may not be right, but it is the world's duty to make it right, giving in to terror won't make Iraq a better place or the entire world for that matter. It has only made it all the more dangerous.
