Love's Lost

Love makes fools of all men!
Haven't all poets penned?
Love's enchantment like moth to flame,
Madness! Madness! Sanity she claim!

When tragedy strikes,
         worry sick heart cries!
Has she been spared?
         heart cares!
wouldn't you?
If she be sister, mother
         worst your daughter
         much more lover!

Love's poison-venom makes heartsick!
Utter words no best pick,
These lines her magic
         command us weave,
This our voice, way of speak!

In time of plenty,
heart doesn't beat less gently!
what is love but responsibility planted
         firmly on ground?
What is love but the gentle warm truth
         be yours woman?!
What is love but this undying passion
         you command?

If this anguish was starlight
         overshadows their might,
heartbreaks fall and shatter,
         hear the bell toll!

Angels above witness!
Love's addicting potent drug
we drank from huge mug!
Love reeks of truth and lies
         that she make fly!
This heart unrequited!

We yearn forget!
Her mem'ry etched timlessly
         since day we first met!
What anguish!
what fool love this heart makes!
All shatter, everything breaks!
By faith's will these hands
         in chains held bound,
we walk half asleep, half awake
unable to utter words
save these lines way of speak!

This love like flood gushes out
         a one way street,
instance a knife clarity
         stabs this heart!
         tortured spirit ripped
         flesh non-healing!
Love's lost
A wound free for all to see,
